(Summary description)Born in 1945 in Yixing, he studied at Yixing Zisha High School in 1958, and was inspired by Professor Pan Chunfang. After he was transferred to Zisha Crafts Factory, he learnt from the famous veteran artist Chen Fuyuan, and was later guided by Gu Jingzhou, one of the leading figures of contemporary pots, for a long period of time. He has been practising zisha for more than 50 years, and has studied the techniques of famous masters, collected the essence of each school, and integrated the artistic personality into one. He has created more than 100 new products, and has won the Gold Medal at the Leipzig International Fair in Germany, the Hundred Flowers Gold Cup Award for Chinese Arts and Crafts, the Gold Medal at the First Chinese Arts and Crafts Huayi Cup, and more than 20 provincial and national arts and crafts competitions and awards.

In 1985, the National Federation of Trade Unions awarded him the title of "National Outstanding Science and Technology Worker" and the "May Day" Labour Medal. He has been to Japan, the United States, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan for academic exchanges on zisha culture. In November 2006, he was awarded the title of Fifth Chinese Master of Arts and Crafts by the National Development and Reform Commission, and in 2008, he was awarded the title of Representative Inheritor of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Jiangsu Province.
